| you'd think that with all the free time i've had here, i would've updated sooner, but honestly i've just been too tired and lazy. today's the first day i've felt remotely better, and it's the first time i've been able to sit at the comp for more than an hour without feeling like passing out.
soooo, since i last wrote, i was woken up monday morning by painful cramps in both my calves. after kneading them out, i got dressed, had breakfast, and headed out with my mom and her 3 sisters to kleinburg, an old-fashioned, european sorta town about 30 minutes away from markham, where we've been staying. we spent our time there walking around, looking at shops (but apparently, most of them are closed on mondays) and then ate lunch at a quaint little french restaurant, where my aunts and mom kept cracking jokes with the elderly french waiter. after lunch, they spent a good chunk of money at a country merchant shop, and then took about a billion pictures - my mom and my aunts, my mom and me, me and my aunt, etc etc. all the while, i had been popping pills and i was feeling okay as long as i was drugged, but when they decided to take a nature walk in the park, i couldn't handle it anymore and rested in the car instead. when we arrived back home, i passed out on the bed, and woke up 3 hours later with a high fever, more chills, body aches, and a really sore throat. my mom was worried about the fever since it was almost 103 degrees, but by that time, all the walk-in medical clinics were closed and a nurse practitioner neighbor admitted that if my fever wasn't over 104, i'd be waiting in the emergency room for a really long time. so i suffered through the night, constantly taking tylenols to try and reduce the fever, and getting up every few hours so i could pee out all the water i was drinking.
tuesday morning, my aunt and mom dragged me to the local clinic, where i threw up all the juice i had drank that morning, and was told i had a strep throat-like throat infection. antibiotics were prescribed, and the doctor also sent me home with instructions to take even more tylenol (which i am quite tired of taking by now). since then, i've been sleeping all hours of the day, eating almsot nothing at all, trying to quell the feelings of nausea and random pain, and hoping i'll feel better by the time my cousin comes over later today - if i'm up for it, she's taking me shopping. i'm so disappointed that i came here to spent time with relatives i haven't seen in years, but instead i've been cooped up inside the house, playing yahoo games and sleeping on an increasingly uncomfortable ikea bed.
anyway, that's my sob story. no need for sympathy though - it's just me bitching and moaning about stuff cause i have nothing better to do. ;) one more day and then i'm going home...see you all soon! |
